Six Pump Court is a leading set with particular expertise in our specialist practice areas. Chambers has a long-standing reputation for providing the highest quality advocacy and advisory services in a friendly and approachable manner. Our members are recognised as leaders in their fields by both Chambers UK and Legal 500.
Our specialist practice areas are: civil and commercial, criminal law, employment law, family law, financial conduct, inquests and inquiries, personal injury, planning and environmental, public law and regulatory law.
We expect our pupils to be genuinely interested in a number of our key practice areas and committed to developing a broad practice as junior tenants at Six Pump Court. Chambers has a strong tradition of recruiting tenants from pupillage and we recognise that our future success depends upon maintaining the highest standards in the selection and training of our pupils.
Our twelve-months pupils spend three to four months with three different pupil supervisors who practice in different areas of specialisation. We are committed to providing our pupils with an interesting, challenging and enjoyable experience during pupillage. We also encourage our pupils to undertake work for as many members of Chambers to achieve a wide range of experience, gaining a more rounded training. Wherever possible, we will attempt to accommodate our pupils' interests, without compromising our overarching aim of providing a broad and varied professional training experience.
Six Pump Court is a member of the Pupillage Gateway. Chambers offers up to two twelve-month pupillages commencing in October 2018. Applications should be made via the Pupillage Gateway
We invite applications for pupillage from candidates with proven academic ability reflected in at least an upper second-class law degree, or equivalent, together with non-academic experience and achievements demonstrating character, commitment, motivation and ability.
Applicants should refer to the pupillage selection criteria advertised on Chambers' website. Chambers operates an equal opportunities selection policy for both pupils and tenants. We are committed to selecting our pupils on merit; we aim to treat all applicants fairly, irrespective of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability and age.
Pupillages are funded by a grant of £15,000 for the first six months and guaranteed earnings of £15,000 in the second six months.
