Becket Chambers, a leading chambers on the South Eastern Circuit, offers one pupillage each year, commencing in October. We are currently seeking candidates for one 12-month pupillage commencing October 2019, and one 12-month pupillage commencing April 2020.

Becket Chambers offers an attractive combination of high quality work and quality of life, providing the opportunity to live and work in attractive areas of Kent or Sussex, and build a successful practice without the need for an expensive London commute or high living costs.

We are a busy, friendly common law set covering a full range of areas of law, but specialising in Family and Civil law in Kent, Sussex and the South East. In particular, we cover:
• General Common Law: including contract disputes, property matters, landlord and tenant and personal injury
• Family: All aspects including public and private Law children cases, injunctions, parental removal and abduction, divorce and financial remediesy
• Employment

Please see our websites, and for detailed information about our barristers and practice areas.

Pupils are selected with a view to tenancy, and we only recruit pupils when we believe there is enough work to keep them usefully occupied, so we expect, on successful completion of your year, to be able to offer you a tenancy. In the last five years all our pupils have been offered a tenancy, and all have accepted.

Pupils are expected to undertake work in all areas of law in which Chambers operates, so unlike in other Chambers where you may only work in a certain area, you will have the opportunity to work across the spectrum.
