Pupillage Vacancy Information

Awards Available: Yes. Financial support level £20,000 minimum, although for the past 3 years all pupils have earned at least £30,000 during their second six alone.
Chambers attracts a significant volume of junior advocacy work and prides itself on developing pupils and junior tenants, helping them become strong advocates capable of a sustained career at the bar.
Pupils will likely be supervised by one or both Heads of Chambers / Grade 4 RASSO prosecutor - dependent on criminal/mixed pupilage. Criminal pupillage will cover both Defence and Prosecution work up to RASSO Grade 4 level. Mixed pupillage will also cover all civil hearings up to Multi-Track Trials.
Pupils will share their supervisor’s room and accompany them in all aspects of their practice. You may, from time to time, also work with other Members of Chambers covering Magistrates Courts work - if warranted by your development.
You will go to court and attend conferences on a daily basis with your pupil supervisor. You will also assist with undertaking drafting and written advices as well as legal research.
You will take on an increasing amount of your own work and as the tenancy decision approaches are likely to be in court three of four times per week.
Chambers guarantees earnings of a minimum of £20,000, comprising of £8,000 award during the first six and guaranteed earnings of £12,000 in the second six. However, past pupils have far exceeded these figures in their second six, earning well over and above the guaranteed minimum. We therefore estimate pupils will earn a minimum of £14,000 in their second six alone, taking their yearly earnings to between £22,000-£30,000 – potentially more.
Applications should be sent to chambers by email to email@example.com. The application email should attach the following documents:
