Chambers are now accepting applications for a single twelve month pupillage starting 1st October 2019. All applications should be made in writing, enclosing a current CV and be sent to Barnaby Large. Chambers looks to nurture pupils into tenants who will continue to promote and develop Chambers' reputation on the Western Circuit. We have three stages to our assessment process: firstly the written application and, if successful, a first round interview from which shortlisted candidates will progress to a second round which consists of a written exercise, an advocacy exercise and interview.
Pupillage with No.18 is a fantastic opportunity and exposes the pupil to the broad spectrum of Chambers' work. Our pupil will receive a grant for the first six (non-practising) months with opportunities to shadow and assist all tenants with their workflow.
Following satisfactory completion of their first six months, our pupil will be able to undertake work in their own right. They will be supported in their work in the second (practicing) six months by their pupil supervisor and will benefit from the guidance of other members of Chambers.
In addition, we are now required by the Bar Standards Board to undertake equality and diversity monitoring in respect of all pupillage applications.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 11th April 2019. Any applications received after that date will not be considered, save in exceptional circumstances.
Please apply by CV and covering letter marked for the attention of Barnaby Large sent by post or to email@example.com.
