Successful candidate will be expected to shadow and assist Pupil Supervisor and other members of chambers during the first six and gain insight into different areas of law in the following ways: carrying out legal research for Pupil Supervisor and other members of chambers; attending conferences with Pupil Supervisor or other members of chambers; assisting pupil supervisor in the preparation and presentation of cases by helping with drafting and bundle making; accompanying Pupil Supervisor and other members of chambers to courts and tribunals to gain advocacy experience; preparing written notes of cases in order to assist Pupil Supervisor and attending the mandatory advocacy training and other courses.
During the second six period, the pupil will undertake written advisory work from solicitors, and appear and present cases in different courts and tribunals; report result of cases and judgment to instructing solicitors and Pupil Supervisor; prepare written notes of the case and judgment for instructing solicitors; maintain detail of all work carried out in this period and review the same with Pupil Supervisor at regular intervals.

Currently we aim to recruit at least one pupil each year to join our busy Civil/Immigration team. Successful candidates are expected to be precise, having attention to details, hard-working, highly motivated, combined with good presentation and drafting skills. Candidates should have previous experience in legal practice as paralegals or mini-pupils.
Basic requirement for all applicants: Law degree or GDL and successful completion of BPTC. For candidates whose first language is not English, please note you need to be very fluent in oral English and an exceptional standard of written English is required.
