Description
Liverpool Civil Law is a practice of barristers based at Old Hall Street, Liverpool. Established at 42 Castle Street, Liverpool in 1998. The belief of the barristers at Liverpool Civil Law is that for the Bar to survive and prosper the emphasis must be on traditional strengths, that is specialist knowledge, clear advice and robust advocacy but also be receptive to modern technology, working methods and all recent changes.

The administration and clerking at Liverpool Civil Law is based on transparency and consistency. The team of clerks aims to have a detailed knowledge of client’s needs and expectations

Chambers is a specialist civil set and undertakes work nationally on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants in its specialist areas of practice.

Chambers is an equal opportunities employer and all applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Structure of Pupillage
Pupils will have one Pupil Supervisor for their 12-month pupillage, although as is the normal practice within chambers they will attend Court with a number of members of Chambers. Pupils will sit in on client conferences and deal with paperwork, including legal pleadings, advices and opinions. During the second six months of pupillage, we expect our pupils to be in court on their own cases.

Funding
Chambers funding policy for Pupillage will be no less than the minimum award recommended by the Bar Council. The award will take the form of a grant for the first six months of pupillage and guaranteed earnings during the second six months.

Closing Date for Applications is 20th December 2019 at 16:00.
