Description
The application process for pupillage commencing September 2021 will be open from 1 January 2020.

Chambers will be offering up to three 12-month pupillages: one in the criminal department and two in the family department. In recent years nearly all of our pupils have been offered a tenancy with us.

We provide financial support comprising:

- £15,728 for each pupil in the form of a grant;

- Guaranteed billings in second six of £25,000 (family department) or £15,000 (criminal department). In our experience, pupils regularly bill in excess of the guaranteed amount;

- Reasonable travel expenses from Chambers to Court during the non-practising period of pupillage;

- Compulsory training costs.

It is anticipated that the overall package for the criminal department’s pupil will be worth in excess of £30,000. For the family department’s pupils, the figure will be in excess of £40,000.

Please note only one application per candidate will be accepted. CVs will not be accepted. Applicants are expected to apply for either the family or criminal pupillages.
The closing date for pupillages commencing September 2021 is 14 February 2020.
Each application form will be anonymised and independently scored by four members of Chambers. The top-scoring candidates will be invited to our assessment day.
The assessment day will comprise of a written task, a prepared public speaking task and an impromptu public speaking task. The top scoring candidates at the assessment day will be asked to remain for interview.
Our assessment day and interviews are expected to take place on Saturday 4 April 2020.
