15 New Bridge Street is a leading set of chambers on the South Eastern Circuit, specialising in criminal and regulatory work, providing representation at every level. Chambers will be offering two criminal pupillages starting in October 2021 and April 2022, respectively.


What we offer


We offer a first class pupillage which provides pupils with the breadth and depth of experience needed for a successful career at the Criminal Bar. We pride ourselves on ensuring that pupils are well supervised and supported throughout their pupillage.

Pupillage at 15 New Bridge Street is divided into four periods (two three-month periods in the first six and two three-month periods in the second six) each of which are spent with a different supervisor. Pupils will be expected to produce work for other members of Chambers throughout the year and will receive in-house advocacy training, starting in the first six.

We are looking for the brightest graduates from any university to fill our pupillage places, but we do not exclude anyone purely on the basis of their class of degree. Financial Support


The pupillage award for 2021 is £18, 960 in accordance with the London Living Wage as prescribed by the Bar Standards Board. This is by way of a grant of £9, 480 for the first ‘non-practising’ six months and guaranteed earnings of £9, 480 during the second ‘practising’ six months.

In addition, Chambers pays for the continuing education courses for which pupils are required to undertake during pupillage and for travel costs outside of London.

All 12-month pupillages are offered by way of a non-gateway application form, which can be downloaded using the link found on our website under the ‘Applying for Pupillage’ section. Applications should be submitted from 04 January 2021 to pupillage.applications@15nbs.com. The closing date for the 2020 pupillage applications is 08 February 2021.
