Joseph Hage Aaronson LLP is an exciting specialist litigation practice based in Holborn, central London. We have built a new model for the provision of litigation services. Our partnership comprises world-renowned practitioners, both barristers and solicitors, from various dispute-resolution backgrounds. Our firm’s barristers and solicitors, with their distinct experiences, work closely as a team from the beginning of every case. We therefore combine the best qualities of a chambers with those of a traditional law firm. Our practice areas are commercial litigation, international arbitration, tax disputes and forensic investigation and we focus on the highest quality, most complex cases.
Our sole focus is achieving the best outcomes for our clients in their most demanding, complex, and important cases. See more at: https://uk.jha.com/firm
We would like to invite candidates to apply for our 12-month pupillage, starting in September 2021.
JHA offers the unique opportunity to work with a mixture of silks, barristers, and solicitors throughout the pupillage. You will be assigned a pupil supervisor who will offer guidance and advice throughout, and ensure you gain the necessary training and experience.
Your experience will include writing opinions, drafting skeleton arguments, and researching points of law as if your pupil supervisor’s case were your own. You may be given the opportunity to attend (and take comprehensive notes during) court appearances and conferences. To integrate you into the firm, you will also assist legal professionals across JHA as appropriate.
As a boutique firm, we expect you to be a highly visible and valuable addition to the team, who enjoys a variety of work and challenges. We are ideally looking for a friendly and bright self-starter, with excellent ability in communicating clearly. We also value honesty, motivation, confidence (without intellectual arrogance), and attention to detail. Prior knowledge or experience in the fields of tax or commercial litigation would be advantageous. Someone who is clearly interested solely in criminal or general common law is unlikely to be happy with the work provided at JHA.
Please note that the maximum support we can offer financially for a pupillage is £30,000 GBP.
Applications should be made by email. Please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter to the Recruitment Team (Recruitment@jha.com). Applicants must mention in the subject of the email ‘Pupillage’ and their name. Due to the high volume of CVs we receive, we unfortunately cannot commit to reply to each applicant.
