Three New Square Intellectual Property specialises in intellectual property law. The work undertaken in chambers involves patents, registered trade marks, registered designs, design rights, copyright, performing rights, moral rights, confidential information and trade secrets, plant breeders rights, passing off, franchising, semi-conductor topography rights, computer contracts, media and entertainment law, information technology, scientifically complex litigation and interrelated areas of European and UK competition and trade practices law.
Pupils should expect to be exposed to the core areas of the work undertaken in chambers. The core areas are patents, registered trade marks, registered designs, design rights, copyright, confidential information and trade secrets and passing off. Pupils may be exposed to other work depending on circumstances during pupillage.
Pupils will be assessed in line with the threshold standard and competences specified in the Professional Statement issued by the Bar Standards Board.
A single twelve month pupillage of two six month stages (reviewable after the first six months) is available.
Sponsored pupils are not accepted.
Normally the pupil will spend between 2-3 months pupillage with a pupil supervisor before moving to another.
