St Pauls Chambers invite applications for a civil pupillage. Please note that St Pauls Chambers are also advertising separately on the portal for a 12-month criminal pupillage.

In the first six months, our pupil will be supervised by one or more members of Chambers who specialises in civil law and should expect to experience work in areas including; personal injury, contractual dispute, harassment/defamation, special education needs ‘SEN’ and privacy/data. If the successful candidate expresses an interest in family work, chambers would encourage it within their pupillage. Our pupil will have an opportunity to experience criminal work for advocacy experience only, in their second six.

Members of our civil team have been recognised in the Legal 500 2022 edition, with endorsements for their knowledge, approachability, excellence in advocacy and meticulous preparation. Particularly, tier one ranking and endorsements in data protection and defamation law were given in the 2022 edition to a member of the St Pauls Civil Team. The team also includes the only junior ranked in Public Law on the North Eastern circuit.

St Pauls Chambers believes in hard work and we police ourselves rigorously. To that end, we are seeking an exceptional individual to commence pupillage with chambers in 2023. We are a progressive set and are looking for enthusiastic and talented candidates from all backgrounds. We assess pupillage candidates based on their understanding of our work, academic/intellectual abilities and loyalty to our set. We value oral and written advocacy skills as equally important and we will be expecting exceptionally high standards to complement our successful reputation.

St Pauls Chambers was voted a Legal 500 ‘Leading Set’ in 2022 and prides itself on the expert advice and representation its members provide. We take professional development seriously and nurture the talent of our pupils from the moment they join chambers by monitoring their progress closely.
