Chambers are now accepting applications for two twelve-month pupillages commencing October 2022 and April 2023 respectively. All applications should be made using the Pupillage Gateway’s portal.

Chambers looks to nurture pupils into tenants who will continue to promote and develop Chambers' reputation on the Western Circuit. We have three stages to our assessment process: the first is as assessment of applicant’s written application. Those successful applicants will then be invited to a first-round interview when they will take part in a short advocacy exercise. Those securing a second-round interview will be assessed by a written exercise and further advocacy exercise.

Pupillage with No.18 is a fantastic opportunity and exposes the pupils to the broad spectrum of Chambers' work. Our pupil will receive a grant for “the first six” (non-practising six months) with opportunities to shadow and assist all tenants with their workflow. Pupils are able to work with all members.

Following satisfactory completion of their first six months, our pupils will be able to undertake work in their own right. They will be supported in their work in “the second six” (practicing six months) by their pupil supervisor and will benefit from the guidance of other members of Chambers.

In addition, we are now required by the Bar Standards Board to undertake equality and diversity monitoring in respect of all pupillage applications.

The closing date for applications are set by the Bar Standards Board on 9th February 2022. Any applications received after that date will not be considered.
