We would hope that our pupil would stay on as a tenant. Members of Chambers have public access and litigation rights. We are a small set of Chambers and can only take one pupil at a time. The pupil is fully integrated into the work of all of us and will be trained and assisted throughout.

We are therefore looking for someone with:
(1) demonstrable advocacy and practice management and development skills.
(2) A real ability to relate well with lay clients directly. Chambers has very strong offshore connections with clients in and from the Middle East including advising in Sharia compliant commercial and banking cases.
(3) relevant experience in and knowledge of commercial and financial legal practice in the Middle East, would be of real advantage, as would fluency in Arabic.
(4) Maturity, common sense and a strong work ethic are more important to us than your class of degree or what university you attended.
(5). Chambers also undertakes some Human Rights work, so experience also in the field would be an advantage.

Would applicants please apply by addressing each of the above competencies (a) by letter and (b) insofar as not covered in the application letter, also attach your CV. No email applications please, but your application will be acknowledged by email. All applications please by post in hard copy addressed to Julian Malins Q.C. Applications should be received by 14:00 on 9th February 2022.
How to apply
Applications only by post in hard copy to Julian Malins Q.C., 115 Temple Chambers, 3-7 Temple Avenue, London EC4Y0DA marking the envelope “Pupillage”. If you provide your own email address, safe receipt will be acknowledged by email.

Applications will be accepted from 11:00 on 5th January 2022.
